EN motors has successfully designed, built, tested and commissioned the most powerful air-filled submersible motor in the world. The motor was supplied to HollandMT. The motor is installed on the suction tube of the newest Spaansen trailing suction hopper dredger, Yed Prior, where it drives the submerged dredge pump.

EN motors and WEG designed, manufactured and tested the submersible motor in close cooperation. With a peak power output of 2200 kW and a rated speed of 300 rpm, the motor torque is a respectable 70.000Nm. The motor has an IP68 degree of protection, an operating depth of up to 30 meters and variable inclination from 0 up to 65 degrees with the shaft end down. The pump impeller is mounted directly onto the motor shaft.
